Boxing Day Lunch

Due to the announcement made by the Government on Wednesday, the 23rd of December, we, along with every other Pub and Restaurant in the country, who are in Tier 4, will be closed until further notice.

Good news that we’ll be offering our EAT OUT AT HOME by Bryn Jones for Boxing Day, Sunday lunch, 27th December, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day lunch (menus for New Year’s Eve and Day are coming on Monday, 28th December).

  • The Oxford Arms is suitable for over 12 y.o. only.
  • We have made a few changes because of COVID-19 restrictions – please take a few minutes to read carefully our new policy.

  • We use herbs, fruits, vegetables, salads from our organic Kitchen Garden and local  Oxfordshire and UK produce:
  • We have gluten-free toast available.
  • All our food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts, cereals, containing gluten and other allergens are present. Our menu descriptions do not include all ingredients. Full allergen information is available on request; please ask your server.
  • Please allow time for preparation as all our meals are cooked to order. Dishes may take at least 30 minutes to prepare.
  • Please note that this menu is a guide only and is subject to substitution or change dependant on availability of produce.


Booking / Cancellation Policy for Boxing Day Lunch:

A valid credit card is required when booking to guarantee your reservation with us.  A £15 deductible from the final bill but not refundable deposit per person will be will be charged in the first week of December.  

A cancellation fee of £35.00 per person will be made to your credit / debit card, in the event of less than 1 week notice (after the 19th of December) given of any cancellation, reduction of number of guests or amendments.

A cancellation fee of £50.00 per person will be made to your credit / debit card, in the event of less than 72 hours notice given of any cancellation, reduction of number of guests or amendments.

However, if we are able to resell your table to a group of the same size we will be happy to waive the charge.

Closed Monday - Wednesday all day, Thursday lunch, Sunday evenings, bank holiday evenings, Christmas Day evening and New Year's Day evening.

NB! The Oxford Arms is suitable for over people aged 12 and over only.

Opening Hours Update:

We are delighted to announce that we have decided to open from Friday, 16th April for lunches only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until later in May when we can reopen fully.
All depends on it not snowing in April or the government changing their minds. Let's hope the sun will be shining. Our online bookings are open.

The Oxford Arms is an award-winning XIX century dining pub in Oxfordshire run by chef patron Bryn Jones since 2003.

We serve good, honest food with a minimum of fuss and maximum flavour.

The menu changes seasonably with daily specials to use even more local produce (some of the ingredients are from our organic Kitchen Garden and Kirtlington village itself).

Our real log fire will keep you warm in winter and our beautiful garden patio will keep you cool during hot summer days.

You will be looked after from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.
