A family run, family friendly, dog friendly, local village pub
Whether you’re looking to catch up with friends, enjoy a family get-together, celebrate a birthday, relax after work, or simply enjoy a quiet pint and a bit of time to yourself – we’ve got you covered.
Situated in the pretty village of Kirtlington in the North Oxfordshire countryside, the Oxford Arms has been a pub for almost 150 years, providing a warm welcome to locals and visitors to the area.
Now we’re run by two brothers, Scott and Strewan, who have spent their lives working in the hospitality industry, so know a thing or two about creating the ideal space to relax and enjoy yourself in.
You’ll also likely be greeted at the door by pub dog Thula, or one of her canine friends who’s in the bar with their owners (don’t worry there is a dog free dining area too).
Eat, drink & be merry
If you’re looking for a quick lunch, a casual supper, a relaxed date night venue or a pub Sunday roast, look no further. You’ll find a menu bursting with flavour, freshly cooked to order.
With a well-stocked bar, hosting quality beers, ales and cider and a range of carefully selected, drinkable wines from around the world, plus spirits and soft drinks, you’ll find a drink for every occasion.
A warm welcome - whatever the weather
Like many a village pub we are at the heart of the local community, bringing people together in a friendly and convivial atmosphere.
In winter, hide away from the dark nights and cosy up inside the pub with a roaring log fire and a spicy, full bodied red wine or a pint of real ale. Join us for a music night or the monthly pub quiz we host during the colder months.
In summer, quench your thirst with a pint or a crisp, chilled glass of white and enjoy the afternoon sunshine and soft evening rays in our private wisteria and rose drenched pub garden. We have a large outdoor seating area (away from the road and car park) with plenty of shade or sunshine depending on your preference.
An old countryside pub with character & a beer garden
Our history and heritage are clear as soon as you walk into the pub.
Low slung ceilings, original wooden beams, centuries old stone walls now combined with modern touches and artwork; which nods to our long connection to the local polo club (you’ll often find the players at the bar in their whites after a match). What remains the same is the friendly atmosphere you’ll find inside.
With the Capability Brown designed grounds of Kirtlington Park on our doorstep, as well as the Oxfordshire Way running almost past our front door, we’re a popular destination for a well-earned drink or a bite to eat after a walk in the countryside (with or without your canine companion).
We’re only a 10 minute drive from the bustle and crowds of Biscester Village shopping centre in one direction and Blenheim Palace in the other. A perfect place to relax after a shopping spree or a day of sightseeing.
Or if you’ve been visiting the dreaming spires of Oxford and want an antidote to the tourist packed city centre we’re a short drive down the A34.
